Sociology of Globalization

The existing work on globalization is usually firmly black or white. Is it a phenomenon or a figure of speech? Is it recent or old? Is it perceived as coming from the top or down at the bottom? Is it a force of homogenization or of differentiation? This book reviews the extensive existing literature and offers social sciences’ perspective on the issue, different from the usual reductive one focusing solely on economic issues.
