সোজাসাপটা: রণবীর সমাদ্দার

Sunandan Roy Chowdhury is publisher of SAMPARK, a Kolkata based literary-academic press that he founded in 1998. He studied history in Presidency College, Kolkata and in Jawaharlal Nehru University, and later did research in education policy at Central European University, Budapest and at Delhi University. 

He has built for Sampark a publishing program with translation as a major focus area; and has created a global network with publishers, translators and authors through participation in Frankfurt and other international book fairs. Along side publishing and academic research he writes for leading Bengali newspapers.

His book, Politics, Policy and Higher Education in India (London, Palgrave Macmillan, 2017) throws up issues for radical reorganisation of higher education in India.

He is series editor of a book series with BRILL, titled "Sampark Studies on South Asian History, Politics and Cultures (SSSA)".

Arup Kumar Sen, Retired Associate Professor, Department of Commerce, Serampore College, West Bengal, India. He earned his doctorate at the University of Calcutta and has published on Indian labor history primarily for Economic & Political Weekly (EPW), the leading scholarly weekly in India. His work includes: "The Gandhian Experiment in Ahmedabad: Towards a Gramscian Reading," "Capital, Labour and the State: Eastern and Western India, 1918-1939," "Marxism and Labour History," and "Mode of Labour Control in Colonial India." He has also contributed to Ours to Master and to Own (Haymarket 2011) and New Forms of Worker Organization (PM Press 2014). Currently, he is working on history of land grabs and labor struggles.
